Network Operations Engineer

Role Purpose 

  •  To manage and direct the smooth day to day running of the ADI UK Ltd Network, relating Hardware and Servers in the delivery and resolution of all support issues and queries, ensuring that high standards of internal and external customer service are met and that quality targets are reached and maintained.  
  • To be the key point of contact between ADI UK Ltd and the key sponsors and stakeholders within the business for all support and maintenance related aspects of the Network and Servers. 
  • To contribute to the review of proposed solutions for network and server improvements including the preparation of or reviewing of business benefits / functional specifications and technical solutions. 

Main Responsibilities 

  • To be the primary contact  on all technical infrastructure related solutions and primary point of contact with all 3rd party suppliers in the delivery of the IT service(s)
  • Responsibility for the ADI Private Wide Area Network for the UK
  • Linux Server Support.
  • Juniper EX series support
  • Vendor Liaison
  • Clear and timely administration of internal ticket system
  • Keeping up to date with technical and industry sector developments
  • Feeding process and product recommendations back to Head of IT and Change Management

Skills and experience 

This will be a "hands on" role, requiring the individual to be organised, demonstrate attention to detail, excellent communications and working with their team to deliver the best solution for the business.  Interaction will be required at all levels within the business from users to Board level with clear focus on providing high quality customer service. 

Essential

3 - 5 years’ experience in a busy Information Technology, Network implementation and management environment, IT systems and Servers that form the Network Infrastructure is a must. 

  • Server Qualification, Linux (Redhat/Ubuntu/LPIC etc.) would be preferable
  • Network qualification i.e. Juniper, JNCIA-Junos, Cisco, CCNA or equivalent
  • Confidence building Router/Switch configurations using Juniper and Cisco Hardware
  • Thorough understanding of TCP/IP call setup, teardown and troubleshooting
  • Routing experience , Support and some design of the following protocols - OSPF/RIP/BGP/MPLS
  • Strong project Management experience to include troubleshooting, planning, installations and management to strict timescales.
  • Proven track record in a technical support role with demonstrable experience of managing and mentoring networks to multiple external sites.
  • Exchange server (preferably 2010) skills including database management and back up
  • Ability to operate with a degree of flexibility by working outside of ‘normal’ operational or contractual hours to deliver a smooth and seamless IT/ network operation were necessary, including weekends,  evenings and ‘On Call’ which is primarily driven by the sporting calendar as ADI is a 365/24/7 business.

 It is essential that the candidate must be able to remain calm under pressure, be a team player, flexible and customer focused with strong communication skills.

Editor/After Effects

A fantastic opportunity for an Editor/Motion Graphics designer at a predominantly working in the sports sector, with some corporate and event work alongside.  

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required in digital media, graphic design, broadcasting, radio/TV/film or equivalent work experience required.
Must have at least a year of work experience in the relevant sector

Candidates must:

  • Be proficient in Final Cut Pro, After Effects and Photoshop
  • Be familiar with both SD and HD formats
  • Have experience in filming
  • Have a thorough understanding of and interest in football
  • Create shows/promo/spots based on input from client/team
  • Interact professionally with external and internal clients
  • Gain an understanding of projects and give input for creative solutions
  • Offer innovative or creative ideas that add value to video projects

  • Be capable of creating from script specifications (provided by client or created by you)

  • Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude; with the ability to handle multi-projects with strict deadlines
  • Be excellent at working within a team
  • Show strong problem solving skills
  • Have proven ability to work effectively with limited supervision and in a high-pressure environment
  • Be available to work weekends and evenings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, especially spelling and grammar
  • Have sound experience of filming with solid state HD cameras

Project Manager - Installations

Reporting to the Operations Manager - Installations, the Project Manager role is responsible for leading the successful delivery of ADI Installation Projects to ensure successful completion and handover of the project to the client and deliver a high standard of operational structure. 

 Tasks

  • Interact with the sales team pre-project award to assist with project specification
  • Responsible for Health & Safety within the Department and ensuring that Health & Safety requirements are adhered to on projects to a satisfactory standard, including the completion of all relevant documentation including method and risk assessments
  • Coordinate both direct and indirect labour on site as required to facilitate project delivery
  • Relationship building within the immediate team and other departments within the Company
  • The Person
  • Proven Project Management skills in a previous role
  • Working knowledge of Prince 2 would be an advantage
  • Proven track record in delivering multi projects on time and on budget

Junior Editor/Cameraperson

The opportunity has arisen for the role of junior editor/cameraperson within the media team at Everton FC, Liverpool.  The successful candidate would be employed by ADI and their role would be split 80/20 between Everton FC in Liverpool and ADI in Preston.  This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to work in a busy media environment whilst boosting their skills working with a well-respected sports content provider.

Freelance MCR Guarantee Engineer

ADI UK Ltd are looking to recruit Freelance MCR and Guarantee Engineers.

The successful candidates will be both supporting ADI staff or working unsupervised at sporting events based either at ADI’s headquarters in Preston or various locations throughout the UK including Liverpool, Sunderland and London.

 The ideal candidates will have experience with professional and broadcast audio/video equipment in a live environment. Including routers, audio mixers, cameras, VTR’s etc.   Control of equipment via IT systems including IP transmission, experience in racking cameras and guaranteeing outside broadcast units. Ability to interpret schematic diagrams and cable scheduling to effect fast and efficient repairs when required.  Monitoring of multiple feeds from remote facilities and routing these to their required destinations.

You will have good communication skills and be a team player whilst being able to work unsupervised. Having the ability to multi-task across audio, video and IT equipment.
