iCONIC 15 Featured in Lord Mayor's Show

An ADI mobile LED screen provided a novel, eye-catching float at this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show in London. The iCONIC 15 is watched by half a million who lined London's streets

ADI were contracted by University College London (UCL) to provide an iCONIC 15 for the annual parade, which saw 71 floats parade through the streets of London to mark the inauguration of the Lord Mayor of the City of London.

The show is one of the main dates on the London events calendar, with half a million people lining the streets and millions more watching via the BBC’s coverage. Beginning at 11am – following an RAF flypast – the procession covers a 1.7 mile course over the next three hours, with the day’s celebrations culminating in a huge fireworks display on the Thames.

With the incoming Lord Mayor a UCL graduate, this was an occasion to celebrate for the university.Designed and organised by the UCL Bartlett School, the iCONIC 15’s screens showed specially commissioned films outlining the history of UCL and achievements of eminent UCL alumni throughout the years, the many groundbreaking landmarks of the university’s history and featured interviews with current students about why they were attracted to UCL.The manoeuvrable iCONIC 15 is perfect for the urban environment

The unique iCONIC 15 was perfect for the task. Its ability to playout content on the move was crucial, whilst the back-to-back 15m²screens and integrated Bose speakers allowed the films to be seen and heard from all angles. Additionally, a small footprint, lightweight construction and manoeuvrable design were well suited London’s twisty streets.
