ADI provided their iCONIC 100 mobile LED screen and outside broadcast facilities for the Double Twelve Motoring Festival at Brooklands on 28-29th June 2008.

The festival is named in honour of Double Twelve meetings of the 1930s when 24-hour racing was not permitted at Brooklands; cars instead raced for 12 hours on consecutive days. The event sees a host of invited veteran, vintage and classic cars put through Brooklands’ Concourse d’Elegance and driving tests such as the notorious Brooklands Hill Climb.

The festival was run jointly with Mercedes-Benz World – a fantastic brand experience centre based at Brooklands, featuring simulator rides, interactive challenges, enthralling exhibits and, most excitingly 2.5km of handling circuits and a 10 acre off-road terrain course. Maclaren Mercedes Formula One team drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen, also made a number of appearances throughout the weekend, proving to be the centre of attraction for many there, as they put the McLaren Mercedes Formula One car through its paces ahead of the following weekend’s British Grand Prix.

The impressive Mercedes-Benz World looks over the circuit ADI were contracted by INP Media for Mercedes-Benz World to provide the world’s largest mobile LED screen – the iCONIC 100 – as well as their Digital12 outside broadcast unit to film and produce content for the screen.

The iCONIC 100 was situated in the centre of the Mercedes-Benz circuit, facing the main grandstand and keeping everyone up to date with what was going on across the site. ADI provided a 3 camera outside broadcast for the weekend, with 2 cameras capturing on-track action and a further one in the concourse area, where they filmed interviews and various pieces with owners and drivers throughout the weekend. These were recorded, edited and featured throughout the weekend’s programme. ADI also provided EVS facilities allowing for instant replays of any major track action.
