A busy weekend for ADI's iCONIC 12 screens...

Three of ADI’s new iCONIC 12 mobile LED screens were in use across the UK last weekend, at hugely varying events:

Darley Stud
Darley Stud used one of ADI’s iCONIC 12 screens for their Stallion Parade on the Thursday and Friday of 10-11th July.

Darley is HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s global breeding operation which currently stands stallions in six countries around the world, with a headquarters at Dalham Hall Stud, located within the historic home of racing, Newmarket. This is where champions such as Authorized and Singspiel stand.

This month saw the Darley Stud Stallion Parade, where 21 of Darley’s finest horses are on show to breeders, trainers and bloodstock agents. ADI provided one of their iCONIC 12 mobile LED screens for the event, which arrived on site on the Tuesday, with a rehearsal on Wednesday prior to the start of the parade on Thursday.

Each day the screen showed full coverage of the parade which ran for around 90 minutes, predominantly being used to provide information on each horse as it was paraded. The screen took a mix from on-site cameras, along with graphics showing details of each horse as well as pre-recorded footage of it racing, whilst corresponding commentary was provided by famed BBC presenter Clare Balding.

The parade ran for two days, finishing on Friday afternoon, at which point ADI lowered the iCONIC 12 allowing them to be offsite within half an hour.

Darley Stud commented that they were extremely happy with the service ADI provided and look forward to working with them again in the future.

Mayor's Newham Show
Meanwhile, to the South East of Darley Stud, ADI had a further two iCONIC 12s at very different events in the capital.

And a second iCONIC12 at the Mayor's Show in Newham, East London

In East London, ADI provided an iCONIC 12 along with two cameras for the Mayor’s Newham Show. The annual event promises a weekend of fun for all the family, with a large attendance of over 50,000 from the local community. Key attractions throughout the weekend included the Caribbean Carnival, Fun Fair, live music and a local version of the famous ITV show, Newham’s Got Talent! With the 2012 Olympics set to have a huge impact on the area, there was a heavy emphasis on community-led sports initiatives, and ADI’s iCONIC 12 was located in the Sports Zone, alongside a 50m track.

The event made full use of the iCONIC 12’s flexible on-board production suite, with the full screen mix being controlled from within the iCONIC 12. The screen ran live coverage from the two RF-linked cameras mixed with content from DVD and PC PowerPoint and video. The onboard production suite meant that there was no need for an additional outside broadcast van, ensuring great value for money for Newham Council.

Lords
A third iCONIC 12 screen was simultaneously in use just a few miles away in St John’s Wood at Lords Cricket Ground, where England were facing South Africa in the first test match in the summer series.

As for the summer’s previous Lords test against New Zealand, ADI provided the MCC with the iCONIC 12 for the whole of the 5 day match. As before, the screen was situated in the Nursery Ground – located alongside the main stadium and open to the batting team to practise in, and a great place for fans to see their heroes close-up.

The screen showed live coverage of the whole match, taking a feed from Sky Sports.
