Cheerleaders entertain the crowds in front of the iCONIC 60Something of tradition in US sporting culture, tailgate parties happen in the car park at a stadium before matches, with people gathering around the tailgates (that would be ‘boots’ to us English!) of cars to enjoy drinks and food. At Wembley, things were a little more organised, with the Wembley carpark transformed into a giant party zone, with fun activities for fans to enjoy all day and a New Orleans theme.
"ADI’s screen looked great and was bigger than ones we’d used in previous years. With 20,000 guests at the party, the screen certainly helped everyone get a great view of the on-stage action.”
Dave Walton, Logical Events
ADI provided an iCONIC 60 mobile LED screen which was setup alongside the main stage, which provided live entertainment including up-and-coming pop bands and live performances from cheerleaders throughout the day. ADI’s screen ran a live feed of the action mixed in with various graphical content that was provided by the onsite production company.
Also available to entertain the 20,000 guests were special items from the NFL Hall of Fame, an NFL 3D cinema, an EA games ‘Hub’ and a merchandise hall and authentic New Orleans food outlets serving everything from hamburgers to jambalaya.
The party ran from 11am until shortly before kick-off at 4pm. The match proved to be a great success, allowing 90,000 British fans the opportunity to catch professional gridiron action without the need for a transatlantic flight!
ADI Business Development Manager Nick Parker commented "It was a pleasure to be involved in another major event at Wembley Stadium. The organisers did a fantastic job and it was a great atmosphere enhancing prior to the game."
