Happy Birthday to Us! ADI is 18 today!
Monday, February 16, 2009 at 11:41AM On this very day, 18 years hence, a young man embarked on a bold and brave new venture into the unknown. The young man had a vision; a vision of a company that would supply the very best products to its customers, backed up by impeccable service and enthusiastic staff who enjoyed coming to work.
18 years later, and whilst the young man is a little older, the vision remains the same.
Today ADI celebrates 18 years in business. Looking back over that time, it’s hard to believe the journeys we have made and that the small company setup from the backroom of a shop has grown to employ staff across the globe and count some of the world’s biggest brands as its regular customers.
Both ADI and the markets in which we operate have changed dramatically over those 18 years. The Premier League – which provides some of our biggest customers – didn’t even exist and it would be a further five years before we installed the UK’s first stadium LED screen at Aston Villa. No-one had even heard of an LED screen, let alone one that came out of the back of a truck trailer!
With much of our focus on cutting edge broadcast and visual technology, it is only natural that ADI itself has evolved to meet the needs of the ever changing marketplace. Our ability to evolve means that today we offer a completely different set of services than in 1991, although still within our original remit to provide creative, high impact communication solutions.
One of our proudest moments over these years has been the launch of our very own LED screen brand in 2007. Virtuality saw us enter the manufacturing market for the first time, with a product designed and developed entirely by ADI that has already proved to be a resounding success, and is soon to be joined by a number of complementary models. We have also steadily built our mobile LED screen operation to the point where ADI now operate the widest and largest fleet of mobile LED screens in the entire world.
Over our time in business we have seen many of our competitors struggle and fall by the wayside, but we have continued to prosper and steadily grow the ADI brand and customer base. One thing we share with 1991 is the difficult economic climate, but ADI is continuing to invest, innovate and grow to ensure that we remain as strong as ever.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers over the past 18 years, and we very much look forward to working with you all for the next 18.
