ICC World Twenty20 England 2009 took place from the 5th to the 21st June and saw the world’s very best players representing their countries in this huge global tournament. The tournament took place at major venues in England, and an ADI iCONIC 15 was used for every match at Lords MCC.Ardent Pakistan and Sri Lanka fans are interviewed before the men's final

ADI were contracted by the ECB to provide the iCONIC 15 to go on the Nursery Ground at Lords, which is an area next to the main stadium, often used by teams for batting practice during matches. With so many matches taking place at Lords, there was great opportunity for fans to meet their heroes, and the area is promoted as a relaxed area for fans to come to.The Pakistan team celebrate winning the final

The iCONIC 15 was used to entertain fans on the Nursery Ground, ensuring that they wouldn’t miss out on any of the action. Because of its unique dual-screen design, it meant that it could be positioned in the centre of the ground and viewed from nearly 360°. Throughout the tournament, it played out live Sky coverage mixed live with footage from the on-site broadcast team. ECB also took advantage of the iCONIC 15’s on-board sound system to play out sound to the crowds.

Twenty20 has taken the cricket world by storm – the shortest format of the game has proved incredibly popular since its inception in 2003; its quickfire format means teams bat for only around 90 minutes each and spectators are usually treated to a feast of boundaries and big hitting.

Alongside the men’s tournament, the women’s Twenty20 tournament was also taking place, with both finals played at Lords on June 21st. Whilst the English men had been knocked out in the Super 8 stages, our women fared much better, beating New Zealand in the final! Meanwhile, following a very shaky start to the tournament, Pakistan ran out winners of the men’s tournament.

Look out for ADI’s iCONIC 15 at other Lords matches this summer.
