For each stadium, ADI have also provided a full screen broadcast package, with full vision mixing capabilities as well as scoreboard software.

The contract marks a further stage in ADI’s international expansion. ADI have for the past 15 years been recognised as the leading UK LED provider to major sports arenas and events – their client list includes major Premier League Clubs such as Manchester United, Everton and Aston Villa, and they provide screens for many of the world’s leading sporting occasions, such as Royal Ascot, Lords MCC and The London Marathon. The last few years has seen ADI expand this model to the global market and their recent South African success demonstrates ADI’s ability to operate at the pinnacle of sporting events.
ADI’s new South African office have managed the contract tender and installation and will also service the screens throughout their lifetime. The new ADI SA office will replicate the success of ADI’s UK business in both the installation and rental markets, servicing a fast growing industry set for dramatic expansion in the lead up to next year’s FIFA World Cup, an event that will put South Africa on the map for global sporting occasions.
ADI SA is headed up by Nic van Gass, whose wealth of experience in sports and entertainment following his time at South African Investment Limited Group makes him ideally positioned to both promote the ADI brand throughout South Africa.
Nic explains the benefits and expectations of the ADI South Africa business: ‘We’ve built a strong team at ADI SA, with a wealth of experience in sports, entertainment, broadcast and technology allowing us to effectively target and service these growth industries. The success of the partnership lies in the combination of ADI SA’s local knowledge with ADI UK’s obvious expertise in LED, helping us to tender effectively and providing assistance, advice and support throughout the installation process. Obviously, with a base in South Africa, ADI are well positioned to service and maintain installations throughout their lifetime.’
ADI UK’s Chief Executive Geraint Williams is pleased with the first major project from ADI SA and excited about what the future holds: ‘There are a number of ways in which a business can expand and, as a manufacturer, the simplest method is to offer product for others to resell. However, ADI’s strength has always been about so much more than that – innovative products, integrated solutions and high levels of service & support – so we are aiming to replicate the whole ADI brand and ethos in other territories.
'The new ADI SA offices make us ideally positioned to expand into a growing market, particularly given its status as the location for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. As well as providing a full service for installed LED product, ADI SA will operate a rental business and is soon to take delivery of mobile LED screens to cater for sports, entertainment and music events.’
