London Hyde Park
As the centre of the day’s proceedings, people from across the world flocked to the famous city to take part in the revelries.
ADI were at the hub of the celebrations, providing three huge screens for Hyde Park – where hundreds of thousands of well-wishers watched the day’s events – as well as a further screen in Green Park.
Nunnington Hall in Yorkshire ADI were contracted by global brand experience agency Jack Morton WorldWide, who had been appointed to create and produce the live celebration sites for the Royal Wedding at key locations in central London. With hundreds of thousands of people expected to converge on London, Trafalgar Square and Hyde Park were chosen as the prime locations to watch the event on giant screens.
As the world’s largest mobile LED screens, ADI’s iCONIC 100s were the ideal choice for the huge crowds expected at Hyde Park. ADI provided three iCONIC 100 screens, which were arranged in a convex arc, ensuring exceptional views for everyone in the park. Throughout the day, the screen predominantly played out The BBC’s coverage, and this was complimented by additional promotional content and live coverage from the three camera outside broadcast team that ADI also supplied.
Outside Of London
A very busy Southampton Street Party! It wasn’t just London that had wedding fever – the whole of the UK was firmly in the spirit, with parities organised in towns and cities across the UK. ADI’s iCONIC mobile screens featured at a number of these including Keswick, Wells-next-the-Sea, Powis Castle, Skipton, Southampton, and Nunnington Hall.
The wide range of iCONIC screens available (they range from 12 to 100m²) meant that ADI were able to supply screens suitable for events of all sizes, from street parties with a hundred people to events with thousands of revellers!
In addition to ADI’s mobile screens, the Royal Wedding featured on a number of ADI’s permanent screens. ADI have just installed a brand new permanent screen in Coventry’s Millennium Place as part of the BBC/LOCOG Olympic “live site” Big Screen initiative, and how fitting that its very first broadcast was the Royal Wedding!
Meanwhile in Manchester, large crowds enjoyed a great atmosphere at Spinningfields, with the entertainment provided by the Spinningfields “cinema” screen installed last year by ADI.
